Superstar Matt Damon also received a very good deal. Specifically, when preparing to make Avatar, director James Cameron asked Matt Damon to star in the film. He promised to pay the actor 10% of the revenue if Matt agreed. 

As a result, Matt Damon refused. Avatar was made without his appearance… and the movie has now surpassed $2.9 billiоn in box office revenue, reaching the top of the highest-grossing movies of all time.

So, it turns out that Matt Damon “lost” … 290 million dollars because of refusing Avatar, (not counting the sales of future parts).

Sharing about his “mistake”, Matt Damon said: “I will go down in history… you will never meet an actor who refuses more money than me.”
