The BRIT Billion Awards celebrate the Rolling Stones’ seven-decade career

British rock band Rolling Stones is the 25th group and artist to receive the BRIT Billion after this award is officially launched in May 2023.

Legendary British rock band Rolling Stones is the latest group to receive the BRIT Billion Award – 1 billion “streams”. BPI – representing the world’s leading UK record labels and music companies, has just announced the above information.

Rolling Stones is the 25th group and artist to receive the BRIT Billion after this award is officially launched in May 2023.

Last week, Hackney Diamonds – the band’s 24th studio album – reached number one in the UK charts. Thus, this is the 14th time the Rolling Stones have achieved this achievement.

According to calculations by the Official Charts Company, in reaching the milestone of 1 billion career streams in the UK, the band became the longest-running artist to receive this prestigious award, with hits Most streamed include Paint It, Black and Start Me Up.

Now with 14 number one albums and eight number 1 singles in the UK, the Rolling Stones are undoubtedly one of the defining bands of British music over the past 60 years.

Hackney Diamonds is the Rolling Stones’ first album in 18 years since the band released A Bigger Bang in 2005 and features a series of guest artists including famous names such as Elton John, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Bill Wyman.

Bands and artists who have received the BRIT Billion Award include ABBA, Coldplay, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Queen, as well as pioneering rap and hip-hop artists AJ Tracey and Headie One.

Ed Sheeran recently became the first artist to receive a special Gold Award for reaching 10 billion streams in the UK.

To date, the Rolling Stones have sold more than 250 million copies of the band’s albums. Their concerts have raked in a staggering $2 billion in ticket sales over the years. In 2021, fans spent up to 130.9 million USD on just 14 shows on the band’s No Filter tour in the US./.
