Even Lil Wayne experiences anxiety prior to announcing a luminary such as Eminem.

Weezy stated last week in an interview with The New York Times for an article commemorating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop that he was “terrified” at the thought of collaborating with Eminem for the very first time.

“When I requested a song from Eminem, I was actually terrified,” Wayne, age 40, told the publication. “That is a monster.”

“He must possess the same quality regarding words that I do.” Precisely, they have become ingrained in our minds. Each and every meaning and facet of them. We certainly hear things that rhyme, the “A Milli” rapper continued. “Before me, both his blessing and his misfortune are known. I particularly enjoy hearing his method of assembling it.

Wayne had previously collaborated with fellow rappers such as Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Drake, and Nicki Minaj, but approaching Eminem as an admirer of his made him feel unlike any other.

The singers initially worked together on “Forever,” a 2009 track by Drake that also featured Kanye West. “Drop the World” from Wayne’s 2010 Rebirth was their debut as a duo, and the same year they reunited for “No Love” from Eminem’s Recovery.

It was well worth his arduous invitation to Eminem for a collaboration, as each of their joint albums has achieved commercial success. “Forever” attained its highest position on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 8, whereas “Drop the World” and “No Love” entered at No. 18 and No. 24, respectively, before all four songs achieved multi-platinum certification.

In another portion of his interview with The New York Times, Wayne expressed his admiration for JAY-Z. “Shawn Carter considered Jay-Z to be the deity of language.” “He was capable of rewriting English literature,” the rapper remarked.
