Jude Bellingham, a famous player for Real Madrid, has provided an explanation regarding his desire to maintain “the legacy” of past players such as Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, and Steven Gerrard.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Since his summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Santiago Bernabeu, the England international has had a remarkable effect at the club, scoring 16 goals in 19 games. His transfer came after he was transferred from Borussia Dortmund. In addition to becoming the face of adidas’ new Predator boot line, he has also been given the responsibility of inheriting Zidane’s old No. 5 jersey in the Spanish capital.

WHAT BELLINGHAM SAID

“Zidane is one of the best midfielders in the history of the game,” Bellingham said in an interview with Marca of following in the footsteps of illustrious players. My goal is to ensure that his number and his boots continue to be a part of history. He continued by saying, “I hope there are many great moments ahead, continue with the legacy of these boots, of this brand, and try to inspire the next generation that comes after me.” He was referring to the boots that he now wears, which have been worn by some notable personalities in the past. As opposed to the time when Zidane, Beckham, or Gerrard were responsible for it, now it is my responsibility and pride, and I hope to take pleasure in it.

As a result of Bellingham’s meteoric rise to notoriety, he was awarded the coveted Kopa Trophy and the Golden Boy award in 2023. The twenty-year-old was overjoyed to see his accomplishments recognized, as he had previously been denied individual honors. “I had been second twice, and the truth is that I didn’t like it,” he continued. “Winning trophies like the Golden Boy has come naturally to me.” When you are unsuccessful, you tend to take it personally. WHAT NEXT FOR BELLINGHAM?

In the 2023–24 season, Bellingham has been dealing with a shoulder injury that has the potential to limit his performance. However, he has been willing to play through any pain in order to assist Real Madrid in advancing to the round of 16 in the Champions League and into the running for the La Liga championship.
