Beautiful gestures: Arsenal Star Bukayo Saka Helps Build Container Village for Hundreds of Earthquake Victims in Morocco

The England winger, who is 22 years old, has contributed to the purchase of fifty containers for a Taroudant village that will provide housing for 255 people.

In early September, when the earthquake struck, nearly 3000 people perished.

Helping in the village is Saka. Despite the fact that 42 people were murdered, the winger is assisting the survivors in collaboration with the charity BigShoe.

He stated, “Upon hearing the news of the devastating earthquake in Morocco, I was astounded.

“However, I knew in that instant that I wanted to help, and we immediately began to consider what we could do to assist the displaced families.”

“We expeditiously devised a solution and were able to provide shelter, solace, and optimism to those who have tragically lost everything against no fault of their own.”

“I hope that the 84 families and, above all, the 89 children in the containers can regain a piece of their everyday lives.”

The containers are equipped with electricity, a sleeping area, a kitchenette, a toilet, and a shower.

Saka has previously collaborated with BigShoe to aid those in need.

He provided financial support for 120 life-changing operations for children in Nigeria last year and for earthquake shelters in Turkey earlier this year.

Saka additionally stated: “In situations where people are fighting for survival, losing their homes or their loved ones, you become even more aware of the privileged situation you live in.”

Saka is not the sole prominent footballer who contributes to the financial support of underprivileged communities.

Mo Salah, a star player for Liverpool, has contributed substantial financial resources to numerous charitable initiatives. These include assisting retired Egyptian footballers, pledging £500,000 to an Egyptian children’s hospital, and providing sustenance to families in his hometown.

Sadio Mane, a former teammate of Mohamed Salah’s for the Liverpool Reds, contributed £500,000 to the construction of a hospital in Senegal, £200,000 to the improvement of a secondary school, and £41,000 to combat the coronavirus in his native country.

Furthermore, in an effort to assist Portugal amidst the pandemic, Cristiano Ronaldo donated five ventilators to hospitals.
