Tony Parker’s contemporary star, Kobe Bryant, also almost lost his wife because of a teammate who had a “strange greed” for things. It happened in the summer of 2004, when Kobe had just reconciled with his wife Vanessa after the rape scandal of a 19-year-old maid at a Colorado hotel.

On a free day, Vanessa invited the children of Karl Malone, Bryant’s veteran teammate at the LA Lakers, to come to her house to play with her children.

While Kobe went to the supermarket to buy things, Karl Malone brought his son. Not knowing what the devil was doing, the tall striker continuously separated his children to sit next to Vanessa and tease them.

Vanessa responded by taking the children out to the garden to play. When Bryant returned, she told her husband about the incident. The Lakers superstar then got angry and cursed Karl Malone like splashing water in the face.

After the incident, people no longer saw the couple playing together on the court, because Malone decided to leave the LA Lakers after just one season, before announcing his retirement.
