The Gunners players from a frustrating evening for Mikel Arteta and his squad are rated here.
1. David Raya – 7
He was underrated by those in front of him in the opener, and his performance in the second was also subpar. A third from the spot deep into stoppage time was saved admirably, and he earns an additional point for his efforts.
2. Ben White – 6
Constantly advanced and endeavored to assist attacks. He was caught out of position and failed to capitalize on Arteta’s request for him to play with his forward foot for the opening goal.
3. William Saliba – 5
Anguish-stricken in his endeavor to prevent the cross that set up the opening goal. His reaction time appeared to be a bit sluggish, but he was otherwise competent.
4. Gabriel Magalhaes – 3
A communication breakdown resulted in an error involving Zinchenko and the initial score. Each participant was at fault. Although he was defeated for the second time by Zinchenko, he still ought to have responded more quickly to secure the header. He was ultimately defeated in the air.
5. Oleksandr Zinchenko (OFF 63′) – 3
A mix-up between Zinchenko and Gabriel, as stated previously, resulted in the opener. He then for the second time completely lost sight of the individual he had been labeling, Mavropanos. An abomination for the Ukrainians.
6. Declan Rice – 5
Continued operations efficiently and made a few commendable long-range endeavors. However, he conceded a penalty by leaving a leg dangling deep into stoppage time. Fortunately, his rating remains unaffected by the fact that the contest has already been lost.
7. Leandro Trossard (OFF 78′) – 7
Dangerous and teasing spheres were inserted into the box. He exuded ferocity and was the spearhead of Arsenal’s charge.
8. Martin Odegaard – 6
Properly moved the object. Although he did not play in as many advanced positions as he had preferred, that is difficult for a midfielder to do against such a low block. Ended the game with a superb long-range strike.
9. Gabriel Martinelli (OFF 63′) – 5
Excellent with the ball, but lacked the composure to prevent tightly marked crosses and blocked crosses.
10. Bukayo Saka – 4
His movement was as precise as ever, but he lacked composure with the ball. Unable to penetrate a formidable West Ham barrier. A point is also being deducted from him for a terrible dive he executed in a last-ditch effort to earn a penalty in the 82nd minute.
11. Gabriel Jesus – 5
Extremely busy, but poorly executed. A uncontested header was missed in the 66th minute.
12. Eddie Nketiah (ON 63′) – 6
It is difficult to come on and make an impact against a team that defends so well and so thoroughly. Intelligent and perceptive, but not substantially influential.
13. Reiss Nelson (ON 63′) – 6
Exact same as before.
14. Emile Smith Rowe (ON 78′) – 6
Not exactly much to go on. ESR joined the action wherever he could and almost immediately came dangerously near to latching onto a cross. However, he was not given much of an opportunity to make a significant impact.
