Arsenal player ratings: Declan Rice Delivers a Stellar, Machine-Like Performance, Yet Makeshift Defender Appears Unsettled

Arsenal, who failed to score despite managing every aspect, were held accountable for their imprudence.

Arsenal amassed an astounding eighteen attempts in their FA Cup third-round derby at the Emirates against Liverpool.

However, after witnessing numerous opportunities go awry, Jakub Kiwior unwittingly directed a cross by Trent Alexander-Arnold into his own net.

And as Arsenal attempted to equalize in the dying seconds of the game’s extra time, Luis Diaz emphatically sealed Liverpool’s berth in round four.

AARON RAMSDALE – 8
Returning to the goal and delivering the ball to the feet within the initial three minutes. Unfortunately, there was no assistance to his name.

Not required to make a save until the midpoint of the second half, when he prevented Diaz from edging at his near post with an incredible stop.

He was helpless in the face of Kiwior’s catastrophe and a Diaz breakaway screamer.

JAKUB KIWIOR – 5
Uncomfortable at left back while wearing an Arsenal shirt, not that Arteta had many alternatives.

Following a halftime struggle to contain Diaz, the opposition scored an own goal. Not a good showing.

GABRIEL – 7
Another outstanding performance at the center of Arsenal’s defense; came close to opening the scoring on a Havertz cross.

WILLIAM SALIBA – 7
After a few iffy deliveries from the back, the team recovered admirably.

Other than that, he was flawless, delivering an especially impressive challenge on Nunez in the penalty area. His severe yellow card was issued to him.

BEN WHITE – 8

His pin-point long throws from high up the pitch provided teammates with an excellent attacking platform, and he also had a powerful thump that forced Alisson to make a solid save.

A second-half long pass over the top nearly teed up Saka. He appears to be completely fit and returned to his former self.

DECLAN RICE – 9
Does he ever experience a bad night?

An additional machine-like performance, ensuring that each blade of grass was covered and any debris was mopped up. I did not misplace a single foot.

JORGINHO – 7
Effectively managed the midfield and maintained their momentum. In preparation for Nketiah, who had ten minutes remaining.

MARTIN ODEGAARD – 7
Extremely unfortunate that his effort failed to open the scoring when he struck the bar while at his most creative and energetic. Propelled the group forward and sustained their effort.

regrettably conceded the free-kick from which Liverpool scored in the dying moments.

BUKAYO SAKA – 7
Similar to his performance at Anfield, he was outrunning Gomez down the right flank with darting dashes both inside and outside.

Nevertheless, he subsequently failed to convert a blatant volley following an inspired set-piece maneuver.

REISS NELSON – 7
Opportunity to seize the lead on a Ramsdale goal kick; missed the side netting after rounding Alisson. A player who appeared proficient both with and without the ball during the initial half.

A few astute additions following the intermission, which were unfortunate to be cut off at the hour mark.

KAI HAVERTZ – 8
All but failed to convert. Although he failed to convert two Saka corners and an Odegaard reverse pass at the back post, he was significantly involved in every one of Arsenal’s decisive moments.

After the interval, he maintained his influence with a charming dinked cross that Saka ought to have blocked.

SUBS
GABRIEL MARTINELLI (NELSON 62) – 7
Looked lively with a point to prove. Did Alexander-Arnold for pace on several occasions.

EDDIE NKETIAH (JORGINHO 80) – 6
Usually so good at making an impact off the bench, but was quiet tonight.

EMILE SMITH ROWE (HAVERTZ 88) – N/A
LEANDRO TROSSARD (KIWIOR 88) – N/A
