Richard Garlick – Arsenal’s new “brain”

The Gunners have decided to appoint Garlick to the position of CEO when the season ends.

Recently, Arsenal announced its new CEO Richard Garlick. He will officially replace Vinai Venkatesham in the summer.

Garlick takes over as Arsenal’s Director of Football Operations from 2021. In this role, he is responsible for all football operations and management across the club.

He joins Arsenal from the Premier League, where he held the position of Director of Football (2018–2021), with executive responsibility for a range of relationships with stakeholders and teams including Transfers and player registrations. Players as well as Match Day Operations.

Richard is responsible for the Premier League’s Medical Strategy and the Premier League’s Chief Medical Advisor. The 47-year-old man also plays an important role in preventing the COVID-19 epidemic at the Premier League.

Before coming to the EPL, Richard held a number of roles at West Bromwich Albion over a period of eight years (2010-2018), including Director of Football Administration and was appointed to the Board of Directors in December 2010.

Coming from a highly qualified lawyer background and having proven his ability when entering the football industry, Richard received great trust.

Richard is one of three members of Arsenal’s executive board representing the club at the ECA (European Club Association) to develop and strengthen Arsenal’s position on the continental stage.

He has brought great influence since joining the Gunners.

 

With Richard’s presence as CEO, Arsenal promises to grow even stronger.
