YouTube vlogger Tasha K faced a setback as her appeal to dismiss Cardi B’s $4 million defamation lawsuit verdict was unsuccessful. The judge’s ruling required Tasha to pay nearly $4 million in damages to Cardi B for disseminating false statements about the rapper on Tasha’s YouTube channel, tarnishing her reputation.
In addition to the financial penalty, Tasha was mandated to remove the defamatory videos from her YouTube channel. Seeking legal recourse, Tasha, also known as Latasha Kebe, filed paperwork with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit last month.
Unfortunately for Tasha K, her appeal was dismissed on Friday due to a lack of jurisdiction. This outcome empowers Cardi B’s legal team to proceed with filing documents for garnishing Tasha’s paychecks and seizing her personal assets, including her home, cars, furniture, stocks, and bonds, to fulfill the debt.
In response to the legal developments, Tasha K and her family have vacated their Lawrenceville, Georgia home, opting for a downsized living arrangement in an apartment. The former residence, a 5-bedroom, 4-bath, 5,000 sq. ft. home with a full basement and proximity to the Collins Hill Golf Course, was purchased by the couple in June 2020 for $380,000.
To offset potential financial burdens, Tasha K listed the house for rent on July 3, with a monthly rental price of $5,000. Prior to putting the property on the market, Latasha transferred ownership to her husband, making him the sole proprietor.
As Tasha K navigates the legal aftermath, her housing transition and the rental listing reflect significant changes in her circumstances.
