Arsenal crush Burnley 5-0, closing in on Liverpool

Arsenal did not have much difficulty winning 5-0 against Burnley in round 25 of the Premier League.

Making an away trip to Burnley is a great opportunity for Arsenal to continue their winning streak in the Premier League. The Gunners soon concretized their ambitions with Odegaard’s goal. In the 5th minute, from Martinelli’s cross, Odegaard controlled the ball and shot a powerful long-range shot to open the score for Arsenal.

However, the opening goal did not help Arsenal have an easy match against Burnley. The home team persistently defended and played with a large number of players in their own half. The 1-goal gap makes it unnecessary for Burnley players to rush. The way the home team played helped them have a good first half.

But then, mistakes in defense made Burnley pay the price. In the 41st minute, Leandro Trossard dribbled the ball and was fouled in the penalty area. Bukayo Saka successfully scored a penalty to increase the score to 2-0 for Arsenal.

Entering the second half, Burnley tried to push the squad higher but it was ineffective. Just 2 minutes after the break, they continued to concede a goal. From Martin Odegaard’s smart through ball, Bukayo Saka marked a successful day with a finish that brought Arsenal’s third goal.

At this point, Burnley gave up and stopped clinging to Arsenal’s strikers. The home team just wаnted to find an honorable equalizer and not think about defense. In the 66th minute, Kiwior had a dangerous pass into the penalty area. Kai Havertz did not touch the ball but the opportunity came to Trossard. He scored to increase the score to 4-0.

In the final minutes of the match, it was Kai Havertz who had a delicate dribble to eliminate O’Shea before finishing with a classy finish to increase the score to 5-0. An important victory over Burnley helped Arsenal get 55 points, continue to chase Liverpool and put pressure on Man City in this year’s Premier League championship race.
