Toni Kroos Announces Return to German National Team

In a surprising turn of events, seasoned midfielder Toni Kroos has declared his intention to return to the German National Team after a hiatus of three years. The 34-year-old player is set to be summoned by coach Julian Nagelsmann for the upcoming series of international matches in March.

Sharing his decision with fans and followers via his social media accounts, Kroos stated, “I want to inform everyone briefly as follows: I will be returning to the German national team this March. Why, you may ask? I have received an offer from the head coach and am feeling very excited about it. I believe that with the current squad, the German team will achieve something special at EURO 2024!”

Towards the end of March, Julian Nagelsmann’s squad is scheduled to face France and the Netherlands in friendly matches as part of their preparations for the upcoming EURO tournament to be held on home soil.

“Nagelsmann contacted me and asked if I could imagine returning to the German team. Until then, I hadn’t considered it. We agreed that I would contemplate the idea and see what happens. I’ve thought about it a lot. If I return, what then? If not, what then? Each conversation with Julian, while not delving into specifics, gradually convinced me. That’s why I want to make the decision at the right time so that no one has to wait. I am extremely satisfied with my decision. It took me some time to be sure of what I wanted.”

While expressing his eagerness to contribute to the team’s success, Kroos humbly acknowledged his role, stating, “Of course, I want to lend a hand to the team. But I am certainly not a savior. I am just one cog connecting with others, hoping that the German team’s machinery will function well. I am well aware of my teammates on the team; they are all talented players. Now is the time to prove our abilities as a united team.”
