Currently, Antony has made 20 appearances in the Premier League this year without netting or creating an assist.
His figures are not good since Ineos, the new co-owners, are investigating the cost and performance of the United team following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.3 billion investment.
In the summer of 2022, Ten Hag signed Antony to play for his former team, Ajax. The player is thought to still have hope from the Dutch boss, who believes he can further his career in England.
Ten Hag, however, asserted last month that Antony has been sidetracked by allegations of domestic abuse, which he vehemently disputes. Due to these allegations, Brazil dropped him in September, and he was forced to return to South America for a while in order to clear his record.
The manager was transparent about his decision to start Alejandro Garnacho, Forson, and Diallo over his costly Brazilian flop after United’s loss to Fulham.
“It had nothing to do with fitness,” stated Ten Hag. “There are many other options on the right, but he’s fit.”
“Antony needs to step up; everyone has seen his shape.” In theory, I can see it happening, but Garnacho, Amad Diallo, and Omari Forson should also play.
