Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal won the London derby against Brentford at Emirates Stadium early this morning.

Arsenal just defeated Brentford 2-1 at Emirates Stadium to temporarily rise to the top of the Premier League. Declan Rice and Kai Havertz scored for the Gunners. Aaron Ramsdale starts for Arsenal. The England international replaced David Raya in goal as Raya was not eligible to play against parent club Brentford.

Ramsdale made some good saves, including two in the second half, but in injury time of the first half, he made a big mistake that caused Arsenal to concede a goal. Former Chelsea player Andy Townsend watched the match and was not impressed with Ramsdale

Townsend told Premier League Productions about the goalkeeper’s disastrous mistake: “Ramsdale likes to encourage people to press on him but come on, it’s half-time. You need to react much quicker than that.”

“Yoane Wissa’s excellent play, his great effort put Ramsdale at fault, but in short, I’m afraid that’s why Ramsdale is on the bench and David Raya is playing every week.”
