HERE WE GOOOO! Benjamin White signed an extension with Arsenal until 2028, the day he refused to join the England team

Ben White officially extended his contract with Arsenal, on the day he refused to join the England team.

On the evening of March 14, Ben White committed his future to Arsenal with a new contract. Specifically, White’s contract is valid until 2028, with the option to extend for another year.

He declared: “I think this is the first time I know that I’m not going anywhere in the summer. Everything at Arsenal is unbelievable and I would love to stay for many more years. The team is really ambitious And that’s what I love about being part of the team.”

Since joining Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2021, White has established himself as a key member of the squad. He appeared 122 times for Arsenal in all competitions.

The England international showed incredible versatility during his three seasons in north London. He spent his first season as a centre-back before moving to the right-back role.

This season, White continues to play well and helps Arsenal fly high in the Premier League and Champions League.

However, it is quite puzzling that White refused to join the England team. Coach Gareth Southgate confirmed that England wanted to call Ben White back, but the Arsenal player refused.

According to British media, White is said to have not gotten over the story of a conflict with a member of the England coaching staff at the 2022 World Cup. At that time, he left Qatar midway through the tournament.

This is clearly an unfortunate situation. White is in high form and can be of great help to the Three Lions.

This refusal means that White likely no longer wants to play for the national team. He has only played four times for England.

With Arsenal, they will have a really healthy White, without having to worry about this player getting injured when he joins the national team.
