Jack Wilshere, head coach of Arsenal’s U18s, disclosed that 14-year-old Max Dowman could be “accelerated” to the first team.

“Really enjoyed” Dowman’s performance, according to the former Arsenal star, who broke into the first squad as a teenager.

The youngster once more captured attention after providing assistance for four goals in the U18s’ recent 5-2 victory over Fulham.

“There is always a concern when fielding such a young player in these matches, but if you’re good enough, you’re old enough,” Wilshere told club media.
