Arsenal Player Ratings: Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard Disappoint, While David Raya’s Mistake Hurts Premier League Title Hopes

Goalkeeper & Defence

David Raya (4/10):

A terrible mix-up gave Bailey Villa his first goal. Also got thrown. Up until that point, he had been fine, but now that will all be forgotten.

Ben White (7/10):

Given Arsenal’s March Player of the Month award before the game, and then put on another great performance. He almost never makes a mistake.

Gabriel Magalhaes (5/10):

A huge mistake on his part almost cost his team a goal in the first half. Throughout, didn’t look at ease.

William Saliba (5/10):

Early on, he made a couple of really important stops, but the first goal didn’t really make him stand out.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (5/10):

They were caught in some strange spots, which let Villa reply. Sometimes made things too hard оn the ball.

Midfield

Declan Rice (6/10):

Put back into a more passive middle role and did well. If he stays there for the second match against Bayern, that will be interesting to see.

Martin Odegaard (7/10):

In the first half, he was truly unbeatable; Villa couldn’t get close to him. After that, it faded.

Kai Havertz (6/10):

Timing some of his runs was spot on, and he did a great job of being out of control. Didn’t have enough resolve in the last third.

аttаck Bukayo Saka (6/10):

His straight runs and crаzy dribbling gave Villa a lot of trouble. Came close after a few tries.

Gabriel Jesus (4/10):

Wasn’t always on the same page as the other attacks. Too many times they were caught offside too. But he needs to be more dangerous in games like this. He did great work without the ball.

Leandro Trossard (4/10):

Had to make the shot from close range right before the break. He moved quickly a few times and pressed hard, but he would have loved to score again with Bayern coming up soon.
