Antony, a star player for Manchester United, bought a brand-new Lamborghini to enjoy being brought to Brazil for the World Cup.
The winger was on Brazil manager Tite’s 26-person squad that was announced to go to Qatar this month. He has never played in a World Cup for the Selecao before.
To mark the event, the former Ajax star bought himself a brand-new set of wheels, which were shown in a social media post this week.
Antony can be seen standing next to the car in an Instagram post. He looks happy after making the buy.
There was also a video in the post of the car being carefully lifted at the United star’s home in Cheshire.
Antony is standing outside his house in the last shot, with the car now in his driveway, and posing with Riccardo Leighton, who set up the deal.
Leighton was also given a signed Manchester United shirt by the Brazilian star as a thank-you for helping to find the car.
The price of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae is £337,000.
Last month, he talked about the sweet moment when he and his family learned that he had been chosen for the squad.
After leaving Ajax, the player posted a video on social media of himself waiting for the news with his family. Everyone is wearing a Manchester United shirt, except Antony, who is wearing a Brazil shirt.
When his name is called, his family jumps for joy and hugs him. After realizing he’ll be playing in his first World Cup, the United No. 21 gets a tight hug and starts to cry.
The winger’s first game for his country was in the World Cup qualifiers in October of last year. This will be his first big game in which he’ll be playing for his country.
Antony hopes that he can help his team win in Qatar, which is his first big tournament with the Selecao.
When they played in the Copa America last year, they didn’t have the player on their team, and they lost in the final. They lost to Argentina 1-0 in the final.
Tite’s team will play their first World Cup game against Serbia on Thursday. They will then play Switzerland and Cameroon later in the tournament.
