According to The Sun newspaper, Manchester City player Phil Foden is about to become the highest paid British player ever. This will happen after Foden finishes playing for England at the European Championship later this summer.
Manchester City wants to sign a new contract with Foden, double his current salary. Accordingly, Foden will receive about £375,000/week, on par with teammates Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.
Sources from the Premier League champion club confirmed that they want to sign a new contract with Foden before the new season starts. The new contract will keep Foden until he turns 30 years old.
