Real Madrid apparently wants Arsenal defender William Saliba, but the Spanish team might find it challenging to negotiate a trade.
According to French source Le10Sport, Saliba has lately been listed as Madrid’s top transfer target for next summer.
Salibo wrote an extension last year; he is under contract at the Emirates Stadium until June 2027.
Arsenal is thus in a solid position to handle any unwelcome interest in their top center back, who appeared in all 38 of their Premier League games last season.
The Express claims that news of Madrid’s interest in Salibo worries the Gunners nothing.
French central defender William Saliba, 23, is under contract with Arsenal until June 2027
Saliba is apparently Sal Madrid’s top priority for next summer, but Arsenal is rumored to be not open to discussing offers for former Saint-Etienne player.
The London club’s position is apparently that he is not for sale and that any offers will be turned down.
At just 18 years old, Salibo joined for Arsenal from Saint-Etienne.
He was loaned back to Saint-Etienne, then Nice, then Marseille, therefore spending the next three seasons back in France.
Since then, the 23-year-old has made 92 first-team Arsenal appearances, developing a strong alliance with Gabriel.
Last season, Arsenal maintained 18 clean sheets and only allowed 29 goals, therefore boasting the best defensive record in the Premier League.
