What Jurrien Timber did for Arsenal vs Inter Milan proves there’s no way back for £30m flop

Denzel Dumfries’ dashes down the sides were one of Inter Milan’s primary threats. But the man assigned to mark Dumfries, Jurrien Timber, did a good job.

Commendable performance by Timber.

In his one-on-ones with Dumfries, Timber showed tenacity by permitting only three touches in the area and two misdirected crosses. Even when Timber was occasionally caught up to Mehdi Taremi, his speed and focus prevented Inter from attacking from the flanks.

Timber contributed to Arsenal’s performance by attempting to forward and support the attack in addition to his defensive responsibilities. Nevertheless, he failed to make the game-changing passes that Arsenal may have needed to gain the upper hand. Timber’s performance was still admirable, though.
