Three Arsenal players are ‘told’ they can find new clubs as Chelsea and Manchester United ‘chase’ Champions League hero

Three Arsenal players have reportedly been informed that they can seek new clubs as the January transfer window approaches. Fabio Vieira, Nuno Tavares, and Marquinhos, who all left the Emirates Stadium on loan during the summer, are now being considered for permanent departures.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal is willing to listen to offers for all three players. Vieira and Tavares are expected to leave in the summer after their loan spells with FC Porto and Lazio, respectively. Vieira has made just five starts for Porto and seems to have no future at Arsenal, having joined for £34 million but only scoring three goals in 49 appearances. Tavares has an obligation to buy clause in his loan agreement with Lazio, contingent on certain conditions being met.

Marquinhos, on the other hand, could leave permanently in January as he looks to conclude his loan at Fluminense. He has made only six appearances since joining Arsenal but still has two years left on his contract.

Chelsea in Pursuit of Dortmund Star

Chelsea is reportedly one of three Premier League clubs vying for Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha. Bild in Germany has indicated that Manchester United and Newcastle United are also interested in the 24-year-old midfielder, who moved to Dortmund in 2023 after leaving Manchester City on a free transfer.

Nmecha has been a regular for Dortmund, participating in all 12 Bundesliga matches and all five Champions League games this season. Chelsea has a wealth of options in central midfield, including Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Romeo Lavia, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, raising questions about whether they would consider offloading any of these players before making a new signing.

As the Premier League season enters the busy festive period, Arsenal and Chelsea are both looking to solidify their squads while keeping pressure on Liverpool, who currently sit at the top of the table.
