Arsenal have reportedly been given the chance to sign a PSG forward on loan

Arsenal are reportedly being presented with the opportunity to secure PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani on loan as cover for Bukayo Saka.

Saka was forced off the pitch just 24 minutes into Arsenal’s match against Crystal Palace on Saturday and later left Selhurst Park on crutches.

Manager Mikel Arteta has since confirmed that Saka will be sidelined for ‘many weeks’ due to a hamstring injury, with internal concerns suggesting the England international may not return until early March.

This development deals a major setback to Arsenal’s title aspirations, especially after earlier injury struggles that saw captain Martin Odegaard miss several matches.

With Saka facing a prolonged absence, speculation has grown over whether Arteta will reinforce his squad during the January transfer window.

According to The Standard, Arsenal are among several clubs set to be offered the chance to bring in Kolo Muani on loan for the rest of the season.

France international Muani has recently found himself on the fringes of Luis Enrique's plans at the Parc des Princes

France international Randal Kolo Muani has recently fallen out of favor under Luis Enrique at Paris Saint-Germain.

Signed as a marquee addition for £64 million plus add-ons from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023, Muani arrived with high expectations. However, his debut season at PSG proved underwhelming, as he managed just 9 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.

This season, the 26-year-old’s fortunes have declined further, with Enrique handing him only two league starts so far.

When asked about Muani’s future earlier this month, Enrique declined to provide clarity, stating: “I could speak about it but I won’t because my decisions say it all, even if, as I have said, all of my decisions can be changed.”

Muani remains under contract with PSG for another three-and-a-half years, earning a reported £200,000 per week.
