Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing to take advantage of Barcelona’s inability to re-register summer signing Dani Olmo with LaLiga, setting their sights on the Spanish midfielder.
Olmo, who joined from Red Bull Leipzig for £50 million during the summer, was initially registered on a temporary basis until the end of the calendar year due to LaLiga’s ongoing financial restrictions on Barcelona.
As a result, the 26-year-old could leave as a free agent if Spain’s football federation continues to block his registration for the second half of the season. LaLiga is pressuring Barcelona to reduce expenses, boost revenue, and adhere to financial regulations.
Barcelona have taken legal action against LaLiga and were optimistic about resolving the matter before next week.
However, the league announced yesterday that their request to re-register Olmo for the remainder of the season had been denied. Barcelona’s Commercial Court 10 confirmed the decision, ruling against the Blaugrana’s attempt to secure his registration.
With Olmo potentially available, several top clubs are now vying for his signature. According to SPORT, Paris Saint-Germain has joined Manchester City and Arsenal in the race to sign the Spanish star.
