Kai Havertz mocked after missing golden chance to win Arsenal’s FA Cup clash with Man United – as well as being the only star to miss in a penalty shootout

Kai Havertz has been brutally mocked by fans after he missed two major opportunities to convert against Manchester United in the FA Cup on Sunday.  United progressed to the fourth round with a 5-3 win on penalties after goals from Bruno Fernandes and Gabriel Magalhaes made the third-round clash go the full distance.

The forward missed a chance to win the game from six yards in the 88th minute and was the only player to miss his spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out.

Fans pilloried Havertz with a series of memes, with pizza chain Domino’s even getting in on the act, sharing a picture of him and writing on X: ‘Sorry if we’ve missed any orders tonight, we’ve just had this guy start.’

Another account shared a popular clip of a untalented basketballer missing multiple throws to signify Havertz’s wasted opportunities.
