Gary Neville believes Arsenal have gained ‘hope’ in the title race despite Liverpool’s win over Wolves.
Arne Slot’s side survived a second-half scare to beat the relegation-threatened visitors 2-1 and reclaim their seven-point lead over the Gunners.
The victory at Anfield came a day after Arsenal, without a recognised striker, claimed a 2-0 victory against Leicester thanks to Mikel Merino’s late brace.
Neville believes Arsenal will be more hopeful of catching Liverpool as the leaders didn’t win in style.
He said on Sky Sports: ‘I thought it was a good day for Liverpool but half a decent day for Arsenal as well, as Liverpool have Villa and City away and just got over the line against a Wolves team who were fantastic in the second half.
‘It was a good result for Liverpool and it wasn’t 4-0 or something and that will give Arsenal hope.’
Meanwhile, Redknapp says the title race will be ‘edgy’ until the end of the season.
‘This is going to be edgy. They’ve had a couple of bad results. They needed to get three points no matter how they did it.’
Neville added: ‘If Liverpool can get through these next three games Arsenal have Forest and United away. Those are not easy games.
‘If Liverpool can get through these games with four points there’s a good chance they will drop points.’
Liverpool will have the chance to extend their lead over Arsenal to 10 points when they visit Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Arsenal return to action next Saturday as they host West Ham, with the leaders then facing Manchester City the next day.
